Why we play

Football gets us through the gate. The people keep us coming back.

Old Knackers FC is a Preston-based men's charity football team, made up mostly of players over 35 who still love the game.

We train, play matches, raise money for good causes and use football to keep conversations about mental health open. There is competition on the pitch, but looking out for one another matters more than the score.

In 2025, the club won the BBC Radio Lancashire Make a Difference Active Award — recognition for the positive impact the team makes beyond football.
